As a Student Ambassador for the American Physical Society (APS) I got once again the opportunity of attending the APS Annual Leadership Meeting (ALM) which was located at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Washington DC 🇺🇸. Building on the connections established at the ALM 2024, I was able to deepen existing relations, expand my professional network and fully experience the APS community.

As part of this years ALM I participated in several topical breakout sessions, the APS price awarding ceremony and the annual business meeting. For the APS Student Ambassadors the programme was expanded by two sessions on self-assessment & teamworking as well as (science-) communication.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank my fellow ambassadors from/in Germany: Irene Carrión LópezJan WillekeMario Gaimann and Cyrus Walther. Together we are striving to provide as much value as possible to the physics students all around the globe and to flatten existing inequalities in education.

A heartfelt thanks goes to Sarah Monk and Kristine Wallace for their incredible commitment to coordinating the Student Ambassador Program and her continuous support in our journey.

I want to thank John Doyle (APS President) and Jonathan Bagger (APS CEO) for supporting student attendance at the ALM and making the APS to an inclusive environment for our scientific community. Finally I express my sincere gratitude towards the American Physical Society as organization itself for covering my travel expenses and making my attendance of this conference possible for me! I am honored for being part of this global physics community that empowers physics students to pursue their passion and impact science and society through their research.
