Last month I had the pleasure to attend the binational (German 🇩🇪 Dutch 🇳🇱) Quantum Future Academy (QFA) 2025. However, this time not being a participant but an alumnus!

For me it was a great pleasure to share my experiences and to reflect on how the QFA 2024 had a severe impact on my life – even after only one year!

Even though I was only part of the QFA 2025 for the last two days, I still got the chance to take part in some program points, like the visit of Forschungszentrum Jülich and the final pitch evening at Burg Obbendorf.

Some of the key messages I presented in my talk (by using an Airbus 320 as example) were:

• People enjoy talking about their projects and like sharing their passion

• Genuine interest is therefore almost never met with rejection but rather with support and maybe even some emerging opportunities

I am very happy that already a small hand full of participants has reached out to me afterwards on various topics, proving that the QFA is not just an academy, but creates a community with lasting connections!

A big thanks to the organizing committee of VDI Technologiezentrum GmbH, especially Dr. Thomas Krämer, Dr. A. Charlotte RimbachNina Pawlik and Luigi Lo Grasso – for not only putting together QFA 2025, but also for inviting me back as an alumnus. It was a real pleasure to contribute!
