I am very happy to announce that I won my first poster-prize at the WE-Heraeus-Seminar “Optics and its Applications in Quantum Technologies” (Armenia 🇦🇲) for the best poster presentation (in the category master students & PhDs) together with Mane Vardanyan.
My poster presented the work from my internship at the German Aerospace Center (DLR), where I contributed to the realization of a photonic quantum memory based on an electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT) protocol in a Rubidium magneto-optical trap. The project specifically aims to miniaturize such systems for satellite deployment, paving the way for global quantum communication.
As this Armenian-German seminar was primarily aimed at PhD students and postdocs, I was the only international Master’s student participating. Despite having presented posters before, this was the first time where I was able to design and create one on my own, gaining further valuable insights into academic communication and research presentation.
Further scientific highlights of the seminar included a visit to the Cyclotron at the A.I.Alikhanyan National Science Laboratory (Yerevan Physics Institute) Foundation, scientific talks at Yerevan State University, and a poster ceremony held in parallel to the Falling Walls Lab Armenia at the Institute of Applied Problems of Physics.
I want to take this opportunity to thank the organizers of this event, especially Narine Gevorgyan and Prof. Dr. David Blaschke as well as the rest of the local organizing committee! Also, I want to thank my supervisors at DLR who allowed me to create and present a poster regarding our work at this conference!
