As a Student Ambassador for the American Physical Society (APS), I feel honoured for having been elected to attend this year's APS Annual Leadership Meeting (ALM), which was located at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Washington DC.

The ALM provided me with a network consisting of other Student Ambassadors as well as established researchers in leadership positions in academia and industry. This network serves as a foundation for fruitful collaboration and communication and enhances the impact I can make as a Student Ambassador by advocating the values of APS. I was also able to gain first-hand insight into the structure and mission of the American Physical Society and share different perspectives and visions with the APS Federal Board members on how physical societies around the globe can support physicists throughout their careers and advocate for their core values in the most effective way.

I would like to thank my friends and fellow German Ambassadors Cyrus WaltherJan Willeke and Mario Gaimann for an incredible year of collaboration - for inspiring me to strive for personal growth and making an impact on the society.

Finally, I would like to thank Young-Kee Kim and Jonathan Bagger for giving the German Student Ambassador team the opportunity to attend the Annual Leadership Meeting. I would also like to express my special thanks to Sarah Monk, who coordinates the Student Ambassador programme and actively supports us in our endeavours. We are honoured to support the APS vision of building a globally connected, inclusive physics community that empowers physics students to pursue their passion and impact science and society through their research.
